NGAC Organizes Devshankar Maheta Lecture Series on World Mother Tongue Day
On February 21, 2023 Nima Girls Arts College, Gozaria celebrated the World Mother Tongue Day through the enthusiastic support from Gujarati Sahitya Akademi. As part of the Devshankar Maheta lecture series DR. Hirendra Pandya from Arts & Commerce College, Vadnagar delivered a scholarly lecture on the significance of Gujarati as the mother tongue of Gujarat. During his lecture DR. Pandya not only gave the instances of the different modes of Gujarati speech but also presented scholarly criticism on the Guajarati short-stories taken as examples during his lecture. In his characteristic style of expression college- Principal DR. R.D. Vaghela advised the gathering about doing something unique for saving the different dialects of the mother tongue Gujarati against many invasions of modernity. DR. S.G. Patel not only introduced the resource person of the programme but revealed the background about the celebration of World Mother Tongue Day also before the scholarly lecture of DR. Pandya.
